Helping grow Michigan’s semiconductor industry
k-Space was happy to support the very first Semiconductor Day in Michigan, held at Oakland University. Semiconductor Day is designed to attract new talent to Michigan’s semiconductor industry and highlight the industry’s many career opportunities spanning science, computing, and manufacturing.
At this year’s Semiconductor Day, students were able to meet with potential employers and learn about Michigan’s semiconductor industry — including semiconductor metrology. The event is organized by the SEMI Foundation.
Other participants at Semiconductor Day included Ford Motor Company, Hemlock Semiconductor, IEEE, and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
STEM Skills and Semiconductor Jobs
As the leading maker of advanced metrology tools for the thin-film and semiconductor industries, Michigan-based k‑Space is helping grow the State’s semiconductor ecosystem while increasing opportunities in high-tech manufacturing.
This includes working with the State of Michigan to bolster manufacturing skillsets and help expand the State’s STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) workforce. k-Space is also supporting nearby Washtenaw Community College as it rolls out its new Semiconductor Technician certification program.
