k-Space thin-film metrology tools are used for measurements in microns and nanometers. And for measurements taken at about 1000 degrees Celsius. Our industrial metrology tools are often placed in-line with massive conveyors at large production facilities, uncovering defects human eyes would otherwise never see. These are good problems to solve. And solving them means change. Today, that meant a change to our own heating and cooling system.

k-Space staff were greeted this morning with a crane outside the office and several work trucks in the parking lot. The South Building, which houses our thin-film and industrial metrology labs, plus our clean room, was getting a newer, better HVAC unit installed.

It was time. We design, build, and manufacture all our products in-house. Time and our continued growth was too much for the older unit.

The HVAC team installed the new unit quickly, and we shared donuts.

The k-Space campus is spread over 2+ buildings, and includes our labs, clean room, 3D printing room, offices, and 10,000 square feet of manufacturing space. We have designed and built metrology systems for 1,000 customers in over 40 countries, and these systems are located both inside the most advanced labs in the world, and among the largest production facilities. It’s pretty cool.
