k-Space continues to grow, and this means adding more engineers, more scientists, and more technicians. To support our growth, k-Space has partnered with the State of Michigan to enhance the skills of our manufacturing teams.

As part of this effort, several of our manufacturing technicians and field service engineers recently took part in an 8-hour Soldering & Cable Assembly training class. Soldering skills are crucial for assembling electronics.

The class was customized for k-Space and our specific production needs. It reviewed and reinforced production skills in soldering of electronic assemblies as well as cable and wire harness assembly. And it encompassed both classroom theory and hands-on practice, including:
- Soldering of Electrical and Electronic Assemblies
- Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies
- Hands-on soldering training

To help ease the impact on our production schedules, half the team participated on one day and the other half of the team completed the training the following day. Each trainee received a certificate of completion.
The class was taught by Circuit Technology and funded in part through the state’s Michigan Works! employee training grant. The grant is designed to help Michigan employers grow the talent they need to expand production, while also ensuring employees gain needed skills for in-demand technical jobs. Thank you, State of Michigan!

Unlike many tech companies, k-Space has its scientists, engineers, software teams, support staff, and production teams all co-located together. No functions are outsourced. This collaboration enhances new product design, ensures the best quality products, and makes for better customer service.
